Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

IF YOU TAKE SODIUM VALPROATE DO NOT STOP TAKING IT. SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE.

My Son Andy has a diagnosis of Fetal Anti Convulsant Syndrome.  He is 14 years old with a mental age of 5.  His other problems include Autism, speech and language impediment and delay, fine motor skills impairment and limited awareness of his environment.

Andy will never live an independent life.

There was inadequate safety information regarding SODIUM VALPROATE in the 1990s.  This has resulted in Andy and hundreds of other children having birth defects as their mothers did not know what damage their unborn child was being subjected to.

All money raised will go towards supporting people like Andy, their parents and their carers and raising awareness of Fetal Anti Convulsant Syndrome.

Some money examples of how your money will be used:

Trustees' travel costs to meetings, postage, printing costs, website maintenance.

Current campaign objectives

1. MHRA need to issue 'Caution in Use' safety warnings to all clinicians. They can do this in their monthly safety info email.

2. Press for a public inquiry into why the regulators havn't issued warnings, why adequate research wasn't done when alarm bells started ringing.

3. Getting some Corporate Social Responsibility. Getting the public service sector and government to push pharma to contribute to the costs to the state of the services required by people with FACS.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
